The BCS school day continues to 4:30 p.m. with our after-school program, which continues our philosophy of learning through discovery. Our parent-run Enrichment Committee provides three sets of enrichment class options throughout the year, which have included dance, music, karate, drums, art, story telling, origami, yoga, and quilting.

Tuesday, December 8: Recycled Sweater Tote Bag / Purse with Sandra Gardner
In 30 minutes, I’ll show you how to recycle a sweater you no longer love into an adorable tote bag or purse. Do you have a old sweater that’s worn out, turned “pilly,” or is just too small, but you just can’t bear to part with it? You can recycle it into a tote bag or a purse… and even use parts of it to create a hat, mittens, or leg warmers. It’s easy, fast, and fun, and no previous knowledge of sewing, knitting, or crocheting is required.
Bring your favorite old sweater or hit a thrift store to find one you like. If it’s mostly made of wool, you can felt it in your washing machine and turn it into a cute little handbag. Cost of class: $10. Supplies (other than sweaters) are included. Or you can use one of our thrift-store sweaters (cost approximately $5).
