What is Simple Giving?

Join us for a day of making homemade back to basic gifts to share with local organizations. Seniors, adults, and children are welcome.  No skills necessary. Admission: FREE

Enjoy Great food • Shop in our Bake Shop or Book Sale • Participate in our Raffle and Silent Auction

Saturday, November 7, 10am-2pm

Who?

Hosted by Grassroot Givers, The Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, and Bethlehem Children’s School.

Sponsored by many local and national organizations (full list to come).

Over 50 local charities will receive homemade gifts and in kind goods:
Albany Boys & Girls Club • Albany Damien Center • Albany Housing Coalition, Inc • Albany Med Ronald McDonald Family Room • Bethlehem Children’s School Summer Camp Scholarship Program • Bright Red Bookshelf Community Literacy Program… and many more! (Full list to come.)

How?

DONATION STATIONS:

Help us make soup in a jar, bouncing balls, bake cookies, create thanksgiving centerpieces, knit a dish cloth, or braid a trivet to share with local charities.

LIVE AUCTION:

“Share the Spirit” Two roundtrip Southwest airline tickets. Good for travel between any two cities within the Southwest Airline system (no restrictions, valued at $800)

VOLUNTEER:

If your family, neighborhood, small group, organization or business would  like to support one of our collection drives or volunteer at A Day of Simple Giving please contact Grassroot Givers, Roberta Sandler, sandlernea@aol.com or call 475-0907.  There are many simple, fun projects you can help out with.

What else?

MUSIC:

Radio host Ric Mitchell from B95.5 will have everyone on the dance floor to  “STOMP” out homelessness.   Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless will lead us in a dance (to the cha-cha slide), a symbolic effort to “Stomp out Homelessness.”

Proceeds will help offset the cost of the event, and provide funding for Grassroot Givers, Bethlehem Children’s School and Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless community service outreach programs.
